chambers bay

I have worked closely on the story of this feature film, to be directed by E.C. Timmer, which is currently in pre-production. Chambers Bay is a coming-of-age dramedy film about two orphaned sisters, both prodigy runners and fourteen years apart in age. Ava, our protagonist, is an obsessive runner and thrilled to coach her younger sister, Lily, in her first-ever high school cross country season. But as Ava injures herself and Lily expands her interests beyond the scope of cross country, Ava must reckon with how her own sense of achievement has been tied up in her athletic prowess and her sister’s success. Ava must reckon with the fact that her capacity to dream has been diminished, and that she must strive to reactivate her imagination of a full life: one of friendship and professional possibility and romance.
